The Genius of Wallpapering, April 19, 2009

Knowing God's desires for our lives can be discovered as the result of our minds being transformed (Romans 12:2) by embracing two outlooks on life.
The Phillips Translation of verse two says, "Don't let the world squeeze you into its mold."
When this is happening in your life, where do you find yourself being squeezed into the world's mold?

What is in place for that to happen/when do you begin to notice this happening?

How would those closest to you answer that for you (Where do they see you vulnerable to being molded into the world's value system)?

Re-read 1 John 2:15-17
The lust of the flesh: a passion to feel/pleasure
The lust of the eyes: a passion to have/possessions
The pride of life: the passion to be/significance
Which one of these areas can be a driver in your life if you are not careful/where are you most vulnerable?

We combat those drivers by being transformed by the renewing of our minds. The word transformed is in the passive voice in the Greek structure meaning
that God is the one who does the transforming in us…we simply provide Him the environment to do so. If He is the one who does the transforming by renewing the mind, what role do you play in making that happen?

What does saying ‘no' to the world and ‘yes' to God look like on a daily basis for you?

Read 2 Corinthians 10:4-5
What would that look like for you to apply these verses on a daily basis?

What "chip" from Easter are you still carrying with you?

What would it take for you to leave it on the table and "go all in" and trust Christ?
