Message from the Small Groups Pastor

"The Life You've Always Wanted"
The next couple of months will be important and formative for our church family:This month, Tim's message series will revolve around the vision and mission of New Covenant Community Church. Additionally we will begin focusing on connecting everyone who calls New Cov their church home into biblical community for support and spiritual growth.
February 20 through April 11 the messages and group emphasis will be on spiritual disciplines and what the pathway looks like to becoming a disciple of Christ.
During these few weeks we will encourage all groups to participate and use a study based on John Ortberg's book, "The Life You've Always Wanted: Spiritual Disciplines for Ordinary People". This is a six session DVD supported study where Ortberg teaches us skills essential to "running the marathon" in Christian life. The author uses humor and touching stories to get his point across while referring to scripture to help us understand how Jesus faced the same problems we do in our daily lives. This should be a great study that will compliment the message series and help all of us grow in our understanding of what it means to follow Christ.
HOSTS NEEDED!!! No, not "heavenly hosts" that the Christmas carols reference but men and women who are willing to step forward in faith to host a Small Group for the eight weeks mentioned above. We want our Small Groups to be a place for friendship and spiritual conversation where relationships are made and spiritual growth occurs. Lastly, lots of other opportunities coming up to help you get connected. Check out the Women's Bible Studies and Men's Fraternity which starts up again on February 22. On Sunday the 9:30AM Connections class will be continuing as will SOLO Moms at 11AM.
