Building Restoration Update - 7/28/24
Over the last month as the church has settled into the North building, restoration of the South building has made progress, led by our General Contractor, Hampton Construction.
What may have felt like a slow start to the restoration process is now full speed ahead and we are encouraged. The building restoration committee, Hampton Construction and the insurance adjuster have aligned on the scope to bring the South Building back to its full glory.
In the main auditorium, the initial focus has been on repairing the roof structure and should be completed in the coming weeks. This included manually removing all the interior spray insulation by hand scraping. In the interior, all interior finishes will be replaced or sealed and refinished with paint or stain. All electrical fixtures will be replaced, the HVAC duct work will be cleaned/sealed and the floor refinished. An AVL (Audio, Video and Lighting) contractor will be replacing all the equipment that was damaged.
In the gathering space area and basement, all interior finishes will be replaced or sealed and refinished with paint or stain. All electrical fixtures will be replaced, the HVAC duct work will be cleaned/sealed and the carpet replaced.
Now that the full scope of work has been defined, Hampton Construction will be working on a project plan and timeline to complete all the work. Once the timeline is finalized, we will provide additional updates.
