The building restoration committee was formed to come alongside the church staff to help provide direction and assistance restoring the church building from the damage left by the fire.
The initial focus has been on restoring the North Side of the building to allow the church to return to the campus. Paul Davis Restoration was contracted to complete the scope of work required for the north lobby/common areas, Flipside auditorium, offices, and lower level class rooms. This work has been completed, the staff has returned to their offices, and Sunday worship will start back on campus on Sunday, 6/30 in the Flipside auditorium.
The North and South sides of the building have been isolated to ensure there is no cross contamination. Environmental air quality tests were performed on the North Side.
Now the focus of the staff and committee has moved to restoration of the South Side of the building. The committee has selected Hampton Construction as the General Contractor to perform the necessary work to restore the South Building. The Hampton team, in partnership with the staff, the committee, and the insurance adjuster will be defining the scope of work required. The priority will be in completing the necessary repairs of the roof structure to ensure protection against further damage from the elements.
The committee is providing oversight to ensure the work performed to restore the building doesn’t create a financial need for the church and remains within the insurance policy coverages.
At this time while the full scope of work is being defined, we don’t currently have a timeline on the South Side restoration. The amount of work required to restore the build is significant and will take time to complete. Once the scope of work is finalized and Hampton can provide a timeline on the reconstruction process, we will provide additional updates.
