Service in the Parking Lot at 9:30am Sunday, May 12.
Service this Sunday, May 12th, at 9:30am will be in the parking lot. We will have our hospitality team directing traffic, serving coffee, and serving light breakfast foods. We will have a few activities available for the kids, similar to our all in services. If you are interested in helping out on Sundays click here. The service will be streamed via our Facebook, New Covenant Community Church. It is also Mother's Day, so we will also be celebrating moms!
In hopes of weather remaining nice for Sunday here's what to bring with you...
Updates:
What's currently happening, and what are short term plans?
While we continue to evaluate the scope of repairs and renovations, we are diligently working with our insurance team and Paul Davis Restoration to determine the best path forward.
How can I help? So many have been eager to help. Fortunately, all current clean-up and replacement needs are fully covered under insurance, which has limited our need for volunteers in the meantime. However, that does not mean there will not be needs in the future. For now, one of the best ways to help beyond Sundays is by joining in our effort in showing our appreciation to Lincoln Fire and Rescue. Please see Monday's email on how you can help, or by clicking here.
What are Short Term Plans?
Our goal is to move our Sunday morning gatherings indoors to the north side of our building (what we call the Flipside). However, while fire, smoke and water damage were limited to the worship center, main lobby, and New Cov Kids area downstairs, smoke spread quickly and intensely throughout the building. Therefore, until cleaning and sanitation on that side of the building are complete, and out of an abundance of caution, we remain unable to use that portion of our building. Until then, we continue to ask that you PLEASE refrain from entering the building, even if you should see doors open while work continues.
Should this short-term process take longer than expected, we have already received an outpouring of generous offers from neighboring churches and schools to provide indoor space to meet, for which we are incredibly thankful. Just in case, we are also evaluating which of these options would serve both New Cov and our hosting location best, should we need to move in that direction.
Things are going to be week-to-week for a while. However, be assured we have a team working diligently to provide more details on interim plans and what you can expect in the weeks to come just as soon as possible, while being good stewards of our resources.
What about Lincoln Vision Community (Korean) Church?
The impact of this fire not only effects New Cov, but also our sisters and brothers with Lincoln Vision Community Church, who meet on the first level on Sunday afternoons. Currently, LVCC will be meeting under the pavilion @ 11am, following New Cov's worship gatherings.
Longer Term Plans for New Cov
Although there is no firm timeline on when all repairs and renovations will be completed, this process is likely to take months. Stay tuned for more information via this page.
